I’m a nut! In a rut! I’m craaaaazzzzyyyyy!

Remember that one from camp? I have been singing it ALL week long. But really I was in one heck of a rut. You might want to sit down for this. I have not felt like knitting!!! It is just way too hot and I have been way too grumpy. I know I know. Things will be alright and I will knit again. Actually I finally started knitting again on the 1st.

I did a simple dishcloth(Granny’s favorite) in Sugar & Cream Violet veil. This has got to be my absolute favorite dishcloth so far. I am going to try the garterlac from Criminy Jickets sometime in the future.

 Here is the beginnings of a candy wrapper sachet. Got the pattern from One Skein. And the yarn from Tammy at Cozystitches.

Well folks, I started Clapotis. I am using the Twize 100% bamboo in Twurple and my Knitpicks size8 needles. So far so good. Getting a little boring though. I am on row 5 of the 3rd round of section 2. Wow that is a mouthfull. I placed a lifeline after section 1 and will be placing another one after this round. I REALLY don’t want to have to frog all the way to the beginning if I make a mistake. Ya know? 

Here is the dishcloth that I made for my sister. In case you can’t tell it’s a frog.  She LOVES frogs. I still have to mail it off too her but hopefully she won’t read my blog before she gets it. LOL! Here is a better picture.

I hope to be working on Odessa soon too. She is a beautifully beaded hat that I want to make for myself and one for someone I will name later. It is Grumperina’s design on Mag Knits. Really very pretty. I just need to get some beads for it.

Must go and get lunch for the kiddos.

The first time I got Felt!

I felted my first project! I am so excited. I actually sat and knit a small bowl with a blend of 80% wool and 20% cashmere. And the really amazing thing?!?!?!? I did it in one sitting. Took me 3 hours but I did it. Then I threw it in the washer and felt it. It is now resting on the bottom of a mason jar candle(upside down of course) with a rubber band around it just below the rim. I have hopes that it will dry with the little ruffles in it.

And here is the rim before felting. I am showing you this as I have never tried to knit in the round using the magic loop method before. It was really awkward but it worked. I just didn’t like the first join. Too loose for my taste. I left it alone though as I figured felting would take care of it.

Here it is after felting. I don’t think I let it felt long enough though.

Here is why. The holes are tiny and really don’t pose much threat but I think I might try to felt it more tomorrow. Can I do that? Or will it just get ruined?

This is what I hope it will look like when finished. Well it already looks like this but it is still really flimsy. For the most part I am happy with it. My first little knick knack bowl. I am so proud!

Guess what! My absolutely thoughtful friend Hazel got me some really beautiful stitch markers! I will have to wait until tomorrow to get some pictures in good lighting so that you can see how gorgeous they are. I really love them! Thanks Hazel!!!

BTW Tammy, I know my stash is nothing compared to yours. Besides the yarn harlot I don’t think ANYONE’s stash can compare to yours. LOL But you should know that I have not even attempted to take pictures of my stash cause that would mean I have something else to clean up later. And I, like you, loathe cleaning. I would rather be knitting.
